About
the Speaker(s): Sylvia Casas-Jolliffe is
President and founder of CASAS International Brokerage,
one of the largest U.S. Customs Broker and freight
forwarder along the California-Mexico border. Ms.
Casas-Jolliffe’s experience in customs brokerage
started in her teens and has culminated more than
30 years later in the leadership and management of
what Hispanic Magazine named as one of the top 50
fastest growing companies in America.
Nora
Marchand serves as Director of Business Development
for CASAS International Brokerage. Mrs. Marchand previously
has held positions in the semiconductor and wireless
industries in various roles including engineering,
sales, and marketing. She has over 20 years experiences
in international business development and trade. She
holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
with a minor in French Literature Studies from the
University of California at San Diego (UCSD).
About
the Company: CASAS International was established
in 1984 by Sylvia Casas and Martha Casas. The company
has been serving the needs of importers and exporters
for over 26 years. CASAS is a certified minority women
owned business and currently employs over 150 employees
in three locations along the California-Mexico Border.
With affiliates, CASAS has over 300 employees in nine
offices located in all major US-Mexico ports of entry.
Our staff is mostly comprised of bilingual and bicultural
employees along the southern border. CASAS is the
largest California-Mexico border US Customs Broker.
Casas International became C-TPAT Certified
(Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) in 2003.
Casas has been an ACE participant and worked with
CPB in the implementation of its programs under a
new platform (Automated Commercial Environment-ACE).
We constantly seek automated systems that enable us
to edit & process shipments electronically from
any Port of the United States under Remote
Location Filing (RLF) entry system.
