"Understanding your Hazmat Liability"

Speaker: Jim Powell, Transportation Development Group (see Jim Powell's bio)

Jim’s presentation will focus on these key issues:

  • Most companies receiving hazmat fines didn’t realize they were shipping a regulated product
  • How purchasing managers can protect their company and increase safety
  • How importers are liability for their foreign suppliers on inbound shipments
  • Are you at risk for a penalty? Which regulations apply to your company?
  • What changes in the regulations have taken place since September 11th?
  • What is the future of hazmat regulations in an era of terrorism
  • Are managers and supervisors personally liable for hazmat violations?
  • What common products are considered hazardous?
  • Who in your company is required to be trained? How much training?
  • What to do if you are inspected by the DOT?
  • How can you get your penalty reduced?

All attendees will receive a CD-ROM containing copies of the presentation materials as well as a free Hazmat Recognition Training presentation that can be used to educate your company on the regulations.
