Procurement of Voice and Data Networks in the Communications

This
presentation will focus on information to assist in
the procurement of complete, turnkey proposals for
Voice and Data provisioning. It will clarify some
of the "must have" information and some
of the questions to ask to ensure a complete accounting
of all costs. The three topics which will be detailed
will be the following:
1. Questions to ask to ensure a complete proposal
2. The importance and availability of redundancy for
both Voice and Data Networks
3. Advantages in having a Single Source solution for
both Voice and Data technologies
This should provide everyone with information that
will be of immediate assistance in procurement of
these services. There are many more topics to consider,
such as how to determine your Voice and Data needs
(how many phone lines do you really need and how much
bandwidth should you have), how can you determine
the level of service each provider can actually give
you, no matter what the claims, what does the FCC
and the PUC require of and mandate to Local Exchange
Carriers (LECS) and Competitive Local Exchange Carriers
(CLECS), what types of Circuits, Trunks and Lines
are available today and which works best for your
type of business, etc.

NAPM-San
Diego's dinner meetings are held the second Tuesday of every
month. Locations vary to accommodate the diverse locations

following details apply to all members and non-members planning
to attend one of our meetings:
- Dinner
Cost is $25.00 in
advance with reservation and $30.00
at the door.
- Reservations
can be made or canceled by 4:00 P.M. on the FRIDAY prior to
the dinner meeting. Late reservations (those made AFTER 4:00
P.M. on Friday) may be charged a $5.00 late reservation fee.
- Any member/non-member who fails to attend after having made a reservation will be invoiced $10.00 for the cost of the dinner.
You
