"Ever
wonder what could happen if your company unplugged
their MRP system and used Kanban instead? Well wonder
no more! Come join us as Jerry Wright, Director of
Operations of dj Orthopedics shares with us the fascinating
story of the transformation of a Don Joy Manufacturing
company from a traditional batch & queue to a
world-class lean enterprise.
Mr.
Wright joined dj Orthopedics in 1997 and has held
leadership positions in both facilities/engineering
and operations. In late 1998, he pioneered the development
of the company’s preventative maintenance program
and instituted the company’s first CMMS system
in early 1999. Mr. Wright is currently the Director
of Operations at the company’s headquarters
in Vista, California. At dj Orthopedics, he was one
of the key change leaders that helped to introduce
lean thinking and transformed the company from a traditional
batch and queue manufacturer to a world-class, lean
enterprise.
Prior
to joining dj Orthopedics, Mr. Wright worked at Kimberly-Clark
Corporation in numerous engineering, maintenance and
operations roles in four different states over a 10-year
period. He also worked for Allied-Signal Aerospace
(now Honeywell) in turbine engine design.
Mr.
Wright holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical
Engineering from Arizona State University, a Master
of Business Administration degree from the University
of Phoenix and has his Professional Engineer license
from the State of California.
dj
Orthopedics is proud to have attained the benchmark
