Biography:
Over the last thirty years, Dr. Miner’s expertise
has helped Fortune 500 companies from Europe, North
America and Latin America implement their management
and personnel strategies throughout Asia. Dr. Miner
partners with individual executives and business teams
to deepen their understanding of Chinese, Korean,
and Japanese business practices, including cultural
values, negotiation, conflict resolution and relationship
building. For Asian executives, he also clarifies
Western business practices and concepts. His in-depth
knowledge has helped management teams improve communication,
set clear tactical goals and create plans to achieve
those goals. Such management alignment work strengthens
the teams and accelerates their accomplishment of
goals. As a consultant, Dr. Miner also has expertise
in working with global energy companies who wish to
transfer operational management responsibility from
Western to Chinese or Asian national managers. Dr.
Miner brings to his clients skills in organizational
development, selection and training, executive coaching
and competency development.
Formerly, Dr. Miner served as Vice-President, Business
Consulting for Prudential Relocation International
where he worked with clients in various industries
including automotive, energy and manufacturing. In
that role, he developed, supervised and managed the
creation of successful training programs and interactive
simulation modules in negotiation and team integration
for global corporations.
Combined with his experience in International Business,
Dr. Miner brings knowledge of international finance
and economics gained as a currency and crude oil trader
for a large investment company. Dr. Miner received
his Ph.D. from Stanford University in Modern Chinese
Economic Development. He previously taught Asian culture
and International Business at several major universities.
Dr. Miner is a frequent speaker for international
conferences sponsored by Chemical Week, The Economist,
the National Foreign Trade Council, Human Resource
Organizations and Employee Relocation Groups.
