James E. Powell, is president of Transportation
Development Group, a logistics consulting firm that
specializes in many aspects of transportation management,
including hazardous materials compliance.
Jim
is an international author, speaker and trainer
on logistics issues. Prior to founding TDG in 1992,
he spent 16 years in executive level logistics positions
in the transportation industry throughout the U.S.,
including 5 years at Skyway Freight Systems, a leader
in Third Party Logistics services, as well as Air
Express International, DHL and Air Polynesia in
Hawaii.
TDG
is an IATA certified training school, and specializes
in hazardous materials shipping training by air,
ocean and highway. TDG has been on the web for 7

and is the global leader in IATA hazmat training
software. Over the last 10 years, TDG has trained
thousands of people and since 1998, Jim has also
been involved in training over 150 FAA Special Agents
at their academy in Oklahoma city. Jim has also
been on the faculty of California State University
Long Beach's "Global Logistics Specialist Program"
for the last 5 years.

to reduce fines for clients facing penalties and
has worked with clients and major international
law firms, such as Coudert Brothers of New York
on penalty cases in the U.S. and abroad.
