Customer Service Account Manager

Location

Corona, CA and on site as needed at customer’s facilities in San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle and Las Vegas

Position Overview

Agile Sourcing Partners is a rapidly growing distribution company providing gas and electric utility products on the West coast. Agile offers many opportunities for growth and experience to the right candidate looking to work in a fast pace and exciting environment. The office is located less than 3 blocks from the West Corona train station (easy commute). The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for managing the customer and supplier relationships and ensuring alignment in the supply chain on key operational objectives such as providing on-time delivery, excellent customer service and high quality products, at best total cost. Some travel will be required to customer and supplier facilities.

 

Responsibilities Job Summary:
The successful candidate will perform standard to complex purchasing tasks to procure assigned supplies, equipment, materials, parts and services for support of operational requirements. The candidate will need to have a strong purchasing background and/or professional certifications demonstrating a proven background of handling contracts, negotiations and complex problem solving. The candidate will work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors. The candidate may receive limited or no instruction, and will be able to work independently on routine assignments. The candidate will manage their own time to successfully complete assigned tasks by stated date. Additionally, the candidate will have experience in an office environment and the ability to work in a strong team oriented and fast paced environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Purchasing and Supplier Performance

  • Issue purchase orders, packing slips, sales orders and invoices.
  • Create purchase order status reports.
  • Receive purchase order acknowledgements, invoices and packing slips.
  • Create blanket contracts and material outline agreements for repetitive purchases.
  • Monitor inventory and develop inventory stocking level requirements.
  • Ensure products are purchased and received per the bill of materials requirements.
  • Ensure purchases are delivered on schedule and invoiced at the negotiated price and lead time, in addition to assuring products meet the quality standards of the customer.
  • Monitor and provide reports on supplier performance including but not limited to on-time delivery, back order status and order fill rates.
  • Take independent action to ensure on time delivery of material, initiate action for return of rejected or unsuitable orders and settle damage claims/return of merchandise.
  • Assist in the negotiation and administration of quotations and purchases and contracts with key suppliers to support daily business.
  • Participates in the selection of suppliers, supply base management and contract development activities.
  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, make recommendations and report back to management to reduce total cost of ownership.
  • Calculate and apply complex concepts such as return on investment, TCO, ABC accounting, inventory valuation, etc.

Customer Service:

  • Interact, follow up and communicate effectively with customers, suppliers and other employees.
  • Provide an analysis of and resolution for any discrepancies and drive process improvement/change.
  • Work with accounting to resolve purchase order or invoice related variances.
  • Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets.
  • Possess the ability to identify, document, communicate and track delivery of services and materials.
  • Assess critical aspects of customers and projects, prioritizes, and completes tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide weekly status reports.
  • Manage relationship and ensure 100% customer satisfaction
  • Manages customer accounts

Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years administrative experience in a purchasing preferably a distribution environment.
  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or equivalent. Work experience and professional certifications may be substituted for education.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and advanced proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
  • Excellent project management and time management skills.
  • Advanced analytical skills for calculating key performance business metrics mentioned above.
  • Strong client service ethic based on the understanding that procurement is a service organization.
  • Heightened sense of urgency to drive projects through all phases, adhering to tight deadlines and changing situations. Advanced Quickbooks experience required.
  • Experience with commodities for gas and electric utilities or has experience working in the utility industry preferred.
