Overview |
Purchasing Manager,
with construction experience for a steel processing
plant in California. This is a “Greenfield”
plant. Construction begins in March, 2008.
Location: San Francisco, California area
Compensation: Anticipated base salary in the 95-100K
range. Incentive and bonus opportunities are likely
to be implemented in the future.

| Responsibilities |
Reporting to the Vice President
and CFO, this individual will be responsible for strategic
sourcing, continuous improvement and supplier management
of assigned commodities during plant construction
and later ongoing operations.
- Manage procurement activities from the development
and implementation of the sourcing strategy to
the management of agreements and suppliers for
a defined category.
- Manage transactional activities related to
the purchase and delivery of commodities.
- Implement and maintain procurement strategy,
policies and procedures.
- Develop qualified, competitive sources of supply
on a continuing basis
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative supplier
analysis.
- Develop negotiation strategies and conduct negotiations
with suppliers.

| Requirements |
BS/BA Degree in Logistics,
Supply Chain Management or a related field and a
minimum of 5 years of heavy industry procurement
experience including construction experience.
