| Responsibilities |
Promotes the most effective use
of company funds consistent with company policies
and in the best interests of Cardinal Health. Represents
the sourcing group providing direction and information
for current and future material, establishing/revising
cost, commitments, or any
procurement/materials information necessary for the
company to make business decisions. Assists in the
development/approval of project timelines and assure
timelines are met. Oversees supplier selection and
establishes short-term and long-term requirements
Communicates/negotiates with chosen suppliers regarding
value analysis concepts, pricing of prototyping
and production quantities, and continuous improvement
goals. Eliminates commodity redundancies to maximize
efficiencies and minimize cost. Coordinate marketing
forecasts and communicates to project team. Coordinate
supplier negotiations and contract requirements
with commodity experts. Coordinate materials/sourcing
activities to ensure successful and timely production
builds. Maintains timelines for the sourcing/materials
responsibilities on all projects. Represents graphically
project status using charts and diagrams for weekly
internal evaluation and monthly management review.
Represents and communicates Cardinal Health business
interests to suppliers. Surveys markets for best
sources or new/second sources. Modifies contracts/agreements
accordingly.

| Requirements |
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS); a minimum of 2 to
5 years related experience in sourcing, materials
planning or operations; or equivalent combination
of education and experience.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and
interpret common scientific and technical journals,
financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints
from customers, regulatory agencies, or members
of the business community.
- Ability to write speeches and articles for publication
that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability
to effectively present information to top management,
public groups, and/or customers.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures
and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions,
proportions, percentages, area, circumference,
and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic
algebra and geometry.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical
problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
in situations where only limited standardization
exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions
furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule
form.
- Other Skills & Abilities: Understanding
of PC applications, word processing, spreadsheets,
and calculator usage.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee
is occasionally required to stand or walk, stoop
or kneel; is frequently required to use hands to
finger, handle or feel objects; is regularly required
to sit,
talk, see and hear. The employee must occasionally
lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision
abilities required by this job include close and
distant vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
