Overview |
Aerospace manufacturer
is seeking a seasoned purchasing professional with
a thorough understanding of aerospace alloys, Mil-Spec
hardware, cutting tools, organic finishes and other
assorted manufacturing items. Candidate must be
able to develop teaming agreements and maximize
return while minimizing inventory. Candidate should
be familiar with consigned inventories and negotiation
strategies and be able to mufti task.

| Responsibilities |
Purchases materials, parts,
supplies, and equipment following established purchasing
policies and procedures and optimizes price, delivery,
and terms; typically purchases $10-$20 million per
year of products and services; purchases complex
items where detailed specification is involved.This
seasoned-level position is involved in developing
specifications and requires analysis to balance
the value of competing bids; guided by established
policy and with minimum supervision, carries out
broad assignments usually involving the purchase
of important and critical items requiring extensive
or specialized knowledge and experience.

Provides guidance and training to lower-level Buyers.
Interviews supplier representatives regarding specifications,
costs, inspection, and similar problems relating
to parts and equipment.
Performs other related duties as required.

| Requirements |
Education &/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college
or university; and minimum eight years related experience
and/or training.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general
business periodicals, professional journals, technical
procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability
to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure
manuals. Ability to effectively present information
and respond to questions from groups of managers,
clients, customers, and the general public
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such
as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals
of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability
to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages,
ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish
facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret
an extensive variety of technical instructions in
mathematical or diagram form and deal with several
abstract and concrete variables.
