Anschutz Entertainment Group, Inc. (“AEG”) is a subsidiary of The Anschutz Company and one of the leading sports and entertainment presenters in the world. AEG owns a collection of companies including multi-use facilities such as STAPLES Center and Home Depot Center in Southern California, several sports franchises including the Los Angeles Kings (NHL) and Los Angeles Galaxy (MLS) and AEG LIVE, one of the world's leading concert promotion and touring companies. AEG is also currently overseeing the development of L.A. LIVE, a 4 million sq. ft. L.A. sports, residential and entertainment district.

Due to our continuous growth and expansion into new markets, we are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to be an integral member of AEG’s team in Los Angeles, CA.

This position is accountable for effective planning of material requirements, supplier evaluation and selection, placement of purchase orders for assigned commodities,supplies or services, and for the conduct of supplier relations resulting in successful support of department, and corporate objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Analyzes spend data for assigned commodities/services.
• Supports new development and program initiatives.
• Solicits and analyzes suppliers' price and delivery quotations.
• Compares business and technical requirements/specifications to supplier capabilities and manages source selection.
• Negotiates significant purchase contracts with selected supplier and issues purchase orders.
• Performs follow-up function to ensure delivery and quality compliance.
• Bids material cost in support of divisional requirements.
• Investigates and resolves questions associated with invoices.
• Actively participates in material and service cost reduction activities.
• Provides purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  

• Sound working knowledge of procurement and MRP principles, techniques and policies
• Demonstration of sound communications skills
• Strong negotiation skills
• Contract creation skills
• Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, and JDEdwards (or equivalent)
• Good math aptitude, accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to be a team player in a growing, dynamic fast paced environment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• 5 years of purchasing/sourcing/vendor management experience
• 5 years buying experience for products and/or services
