Overview |
Position will manage
staff involved in the purchasing/buying functions
for a $100m consumer products manufacturer. Includes
purchase of raw materials, packaging components,
equipment, and supplies. Position will also have
responsibilities in material supply analysis to
gain efficiencies, improve quality, and reduce cost.

| Responsibilities |
- Manage ordering and timely delivery of materials
- Work with product development in identifying
new sources of raw materials.
- Analyze price, quality, delivery, and service
to meet business targets
- Develop policies and procedures as well as
systems to improve inventory, production, and
distribution
- Establish supplier performance program
- Help achieve more responsive and accurate customer
costing process

| Requirements |
- Minimum five years purchasing management from
food, health product, or pharmaceutical industry
- B.S. Degree
- Decision-making and staff supervision experience
- Strong organizational skills and task management
capabilities
- Good leadership, interpersonal, and negotiation
skills
- Expertise in MRP systems
- Proficiency with computer systems and packaged
software
- Commitment to ongoing continuous improvement
programs
- APICS and NAPM certifications desirable
- Experience in develop of management metrics
