Overview |
Kelly
Engineering Resources is recruiting for a Buyer
to work in the North County Area. The Buyer will
be responsible for placing purchase orders for materials,
services, and equipment, outside processors in response
to purchase requisitions based on MRP requirements
and company needs. This individual selects and negotiates
with approved suppliers to maintain competitive
pricing.

| Responsibilities |
- Issues
purchase orders based on MRP planning reports,
or purchase requisitions for non-inventory acquisitions.
Requires sourcing and sample approval processing
necessary to accomplish company objectives.
- Interacts
with all departments throughout the company.
Tracks supplier delivery performance and expedites
delivery of goods as needed.
- Orders
and coordinates the delivery of imported raw materials
to meet scheduling requirements.
- Continuously
sources new packaging and raw materials suppliers
to meet production and customer requirements.
- Handles
non-conformances of internal and external processes
through corrective action process and pursues
continuous improvement.
Maintains and keep current the Kosher Book for
inspection on an annual basis.
- Discusses
defective or unacceptable goods or services with
quality control personnel and others to determine
source of problem and the corrective action required.
Ensures rejected material is returned to supplier
within established lead-time.
- Coordinates
product returns with shipping/receiving and accounts
payable regarding billing discrepancies.
- Makes
recommendations to management regarding supplier
performance and pricing opportunities.
- Must
be a self-starter and be able to work in conjunction
and independently of others in the department.

| Requirements |
AA
degree and a minimum of three to four years experience
in the pharmaceutical or Nutraceutical industry.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Effective analytical ability.
Strong written and oral communication skills; must
be able to communicate with all levels of the organization.
Effective interpersonal and negotiation skills. Must
be a detail oriented individual.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. Must
be proficient with computer applications such as Microsoft
Word and Excel.
Statistical analysis skills; must be able to analyze
trends and statistical data and make appropriate decisions
and recommendations. Preferred
skills/training:
APICS, NAPM, or related certification desired.
