solicit members of an affiliated association for consulting
engagements.
In
principle and in practice, the National Association of Purchasing
Management values and seeks a diverse membership. Individual viewpoints
and contributions are pursued and respected. There are no barriers
to full participation in NAPM on the basis of ethnic background,
gender, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, or disability.
For NAPM, diversity is valuing and respecting individual strengths,
viewpoints and contributions. Diversity is viewed as a positive
asset in NAPM's growth and success. The association will value
and embrace diversity in the membership. It is the policy of NAPM
not to be affiliated with an association which fails to adhere
to the provisions of this statement of policy.
To qualify for “Associate” membership, the candidate
must meet NAPM-San Diego’s general membership criteria and
be employed by a company in which at least one member of the same
company holds a “Regular” membership in NAPM-San Diego.
An “Associate” member of NAPM-San
Diego may attend all NAPM-San Diego functions and will receive
the benefit of all discounts related to NAPM-San Diego sponsored
classes or seminars. An “Associate” member may also
serve in various capacities on NAPM-San Diego committees and in
other activities, as permitted by the organization’s bylaws.
However, an “Associate” member is a non-voting member
and may not participate in elections of officers and directors
to the Board of Directors nor hold office in the organization.
This is reserved for “Regular” members.
On
the other hand, “Associate” members can always upgrade
their membership level to full “Regular” status at
any time by paying the difference between the “Associate”
annual membership fee (now $99) and the “Regular”
annual membership fee (currently $199). “Regular”
membership gives the candidate access to the benefits offered
by the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) and to discounts
on their educational services and products, as well as voting
rights and the opportunity for enhanced participation in the activities
of NAPM-San Diego.
Please call the Business Office, or contact a
member of the Board of Directors, for additional information on
the benefits of “Associate” membership.
